In the second of our ‘Meet the MBA Programme team’, we meet SE Asia Director, Dr Michael Marck:
Dr Michael Marck was appointed Academic Director, MBA programme for Southeast Asia in August, 2010. Within this role he is responsible to ensure the MBA programme is efficiently presented and represented in Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.
Michael joined the department in October 2002 as a visiting lecturer and a PhD researcher. Prior to this he was a part time lecturer at the University of Calgary Canada. Michael published his PhD in May, 2008 which investigated loyalty within the B2B Services Market and the role of the Salesperson as a ‘boundary spanner’ and their role in building client loyalty.
Michael graduated from the University of Calgary with an MBA (1997) and formerly from the University of Western Ontario with a BA in Economics.
Dr. Marck has over twenty years of full-time work experience at the senior director level for both private and public companies which include Canada Post Corporation, Bell Canada, AT&T and Group Telecom.
Michael teaches the following courses for the MBA programme: Marketing Management, Strategy Analysis and Evaluation and an elective, Brand Management Strategies.
Other activities: Guest Lecturer, University of Edinburgh; Coach for the Strathclyde Students’ Sale Club, participating in the World Finals, University of Northern Illinois, Nov, 2010 and Feb, 2013.
